HOLD THE LINE LOUDOUN

Two new overhead transmission lines proposed:
Valley Link and MARL

We are property owners in north western Loudoun, Frederick and Clarke counties opposing these lines as they are currently proposed. Our rural communities should not become the infrastructure corridor for data center expansion in eastern Loudoun.

The proposed transmission lines

Valley Link

Valley Link North is a proposed 261-mile, 765kV overhead transmission line through West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland. It would require a new 200-foot easement for its entire length.

MARL / Gore-Doubs-Goose Creek

MARL / Gore-Doubs-Goose Creek is a proposed 500kV transmission line through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia. The project has segments assigned to NextEra, FirstEnergy and Dominion.

Underground HVDC is an alternative to overhead transmission lines

Transmission lines must be sited along a highway or put underground along existing utility or highway easements. We support underground high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and oppose taking rural residents’ private property to meet the demands of for-profit data centers.
